When my oldest daughter, Aria, was only 2-years-old… we had planned a trip to Houston to visit my family. Upon booking our tickets, we found that one of our flight options was to pass through Las Vegas. My husband loves playing Texas Hold’em, and I’m a major sucker for the Wheel of Fortune slots, so in all honesty…that was the flight we wanted to take! I know… you’re probably thinking, “Why would you want to bring a 2-year-old to Las Vegas?” Well, let me ask you this…”Why wouldn’t I want to bring my 2-year-old with me to Vegas?”

When it comes to tourism, Las Vegas is known for their spontaneous night life scene. We’re so use to envisioning the Las Vegas strip full of people who are ready to party and create the greatest experience of their lives. I mean…who’s ready for a night of drinking until the night becomes a blur? How about hitting the high-stakes table and seeing if we could leave richer than when we came? Or better yet…let’s dance the night away and then hit the closest male revue or strip club for a fine old time. Hahaha! Well, I ‘d hate to disappoint you, but this article is all about the family. Now although it’s true that most of the partying happens at night, there are still a bunch of kid-friendly attractions that could be seen during the day. Here are the places that we made sure to visit in our 3 days of being there.

  1. Treasure Island: This was the hotel that we stayed in for all 3 days, and it was an absolute joy. They had a pretty cool ship and fountains up front, and it looked beautiful when it lit up at night.

2. The Venetian: In this beautiful and elegant hotel resembling the romantic city of Italy… the Gondola Ride is a must. There are two types of rides. You can choose to do the outdoor route, which goes through the hotel to the outside of the hotel… or you can choose what we did, and tour the inside of The Venetian, as you glide down the Grand Canal while being serenaded by your gondolier. It was an absolute amazing experience, and I recommend for everyone to go on a gondola ride at least once in their lives whether in The Venetian or Italy itself.

3. The Bellagio: Every season the Bellagio has a fun, theme display in their Conservatory & Botanical Garden that is admired by people of all ages. Of course, we had gone in October, so we got to see the Fall decorations they had worked hard to set up. It was absolutely stunning! Afterwards, you can take your astonishments outside, where the Fountains of Bellagio become a main attraction with its beautiful water show. It’s even more breath-taking when you see it at night.

4. Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat: One of the attractions that my daughter absolutely enjoyed was Siegfried & Roy’s Dolphin Habitat and the Secret Garden full of wild cats. There were so many different types of cats in there, but her favorite was the Tiger…of course. We went ahead and named him ‘Tony’… although, I’m sure he already had one. And then there are those dolphins are always awesome to watch! One of the experiences that we wanted to do was Painting with the Dolphins, but Ari was too small at the time, and I didn’t want to chance her getting scared and then freaking out the dolphins, or even risk her falling in. What can I say…I was a first-time mother. Haha!

5. The High Roller: Have you ever heard about The High Roller? Well, even if you’ve never heard of it, I’m pretty sure you know of it…if that makes sense. The High Roller is the world’s tallest observation wheel, and it’s right there in the middle of the strip at The Linq Hotel. It’s a 30 minute ride, and it gives you a 360-view of The Strip. Of course, we went during the day, so it wasn’t as crowded as it usually would be at night. People can even have mini parties or events in it as well, which is pretty cool, but you definitely won’t have a cabin to yourself if it’s a busy night. Luckily for us, it wasn’t and we got to have the cabin all to ourselves. After that, we got to get a gelato…yum!

6. Discovery Children’s Museum: Just a few minutes drive from the Las Vegas strip, there’s an amazing children’s museum that’s so fun and very educational for the kids. It was such a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, and it seemed like there were kids of all ages enjoying themselves when we were there. If you are looking for the perfect place to bring your little ones to so that they can release that built up energy…this is definitely the place to go.

Water World was Aria’s absolute favorite, so of course, we had to save that for last!

7. The Eiffel Tower Experience: If you’re looking for one of the most breath-taking views in Vegas, you’ll definitely want to head over to the Paris hotel to experience The Eiffel Tower Experience. From the time we paid for our tickets to the time we reached the top…it felt like we were about to experience Paris first-hand. It definitely didn’t disappoint!! With as many people who were up there with us, it was very important for us to keep a good eye on our little one, for it could have been very easy for her to get lost in that crowd.

As you can see…our 3 days in Vegas was very eventful for our family, however, this list does not limit the amount of kid-friendly attractions available. Don’t forget about the carnival at Circus Circus, the Big Apple Coaster at the New York New York hotel, dinner and a show at Excalibur and so much more. Las Vegas is a city worth exploring, and I do recommend taking some time to explore it with your family, so that you can experience it yourself that Vegas isn’t just for adults!
