Hello!! Welcome to my lifestyle blog named ‘Capturing Life with Love’! I am so happy that you are here with me as I begin this amazing journey!!
My name is Thesia (pronounced ‘Tee-Sha’) Westmoreland, and I am a 33-year-old chamorrita girl turned country. I’m originally from the beautiful island of Guam, now trying to make the most of life in the suburbs of Oklahoma City. I’m living life to the fullest with my amazing husband, Shane, and our two beautiful little ones, Aria & Lily! We are loving life to the fullest, and the beauty of it all is that we are loving it together. So when I say that music soothes my soul, food exploration is my jam, capturing moments through photography is my calling and traveling the world is my goal… then I’m proud to say that ‘my’ is more of ‘our’, because we share in all of these experiences together. Now…before I introduce the people who have inspired me to start my blogging venture, I’d love to give you a background on my story…
I am a born and raised island girl who enlisted into the United States Air Force at age 17. After graduating from high school, I enjoyed as much of the summer as I could before departing for what I thought was the biggest adventure of my life. In August 2006, I had went through basic training and technical school, and then got my first assignment in Northern California. It didn’t take long before I met the person whom I had never expected to bear my heart and soul to. What can I say, we were in love… and before you ask… yes, we still are! Shane has been my soulmate for over 14 years now, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner-in-crime, love and life!
I’d love to introduce my love… Shane! We have been married for almost as long as I have been serving in the military, and I couldn’t be more excited to share all my life experiences with him. He is the most kind-hearted and supportive person I have ever known, and I’m so happy to have promised my life to someone who is as fun-loving and amazing as him. Shane is a country boy from an extremely small town in Texas called Wills Point. He enlisted into the Air Force at 19, and had proudly served this great nation for 8 years. He recently graduated from the University of Alaska – Anchorage where he earned his Bachelors in Journalism & Communications, and we both can’t wait to see where that will take him. And yes… he will be contributing stories to this blog as well.
Now introducing my life… Aria & Lily! In August 2013 and October 2016, God revealed two of his most precious plans to us!! I feel so extremely blessed that he did, because he had granted me with two of the most beautiful and kind-hearted little human beings whom I could ever wish for as a mother.
Aria, who is 6-years-old and is my little ray of sunshine, is such an amazing big sister. She is kind to everyone she meets, polite with her mannerisms, helpful in all things, such the jokester and extremely vocal…yup, she is the social butterfly in the family. Sometimes too social! Everywhere we go, she can sum up our family’s life story in 5 minutes with her seven topics coming from every direction. If you ask her a question that you don’t expect an answer to…here’s my first tip… don’t ask or she’ll talk your ear off. Haha! She loves singing, dancing, taking pictures, making art, learning new things, watching YouTube Kids, gymnastics and so much more! She’s very outgoing!
Now Lily is our sweet, gentle and laid back 3-year-old munchkin. She is still in that shy phase, but once she warms up to you, she could be your best friend! She is more independent and doesn’t mind doing things by herself, but she’s always open to group activities. She is such a sweetheart and loves giving hugs. People say that she is the sweetest girl, which we believe! However, don’t let her sweet face fool you, for as chill as she is, she can get real feisty…especially when she’s hungry! So with that being said, Lily loves snacking, dancing, singing, drawing, gymnastics and playing on the slide.
I’m really excited to share about what life throws our way, and how we go through it together! I hope it inspires you to go out and live life to the fullest! Have an amazing day!
