Happy Easter, Everyone!! Wishing you and your family many blessings of joy, love, peace and hope! šŸ’—šŸ£šŸ°

So I know itā€™s been a while… and to think of it… itā€™s probably been over a year to be exact. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I know, right? Since the pandemic hit, things have been non-stop with everything going on in my life… as it probably had been for a lot of people. Believe me when I say… Iā€™ve been contemplating on when it would be a good time to jump back into it. Did I know that I was going to post something in my blog today? Not at all! Actually… my thoughts recently have been on how to make this yearā€™s Easter a bit more special for my girls; because Lord knows that last year it wasnā€™t. At the time, I was an essential worker who worked long hours at the surge of the COVID-19 pandemic, that I didnā€™t have the time to buy plastic eggs and treats for my kids to even have an Easter egg hunt in our backyard. Sad, I know! Luckily for me… my six-year-old understood my reason, however, it still didnā€™t feel good knowing that they wouldnā€™t have been able to enjoy an activity that Iā€™ve enjoyed since I was a kid. I wasnā€™t about to let it happen again now that weā€™ve gotten to a place of some normalcy.

So how was I going to make this Easter special for the girls? First, to kick off my preparations… I went to the store and bought some plastic eggs, along with treats to go in them. Can you believe I found dozen packs of plastic eggs for only $0.67 a pack? You bet I bought a bunch! Next, I had to get in touch with the ever-popular Easter Bunny to discuss what she (yes… itā€™s a ā€˜sheā€™) had in store for the girlsā€™ gift baskets. What do you think? I was able to find games and treats at the store for under $5 each, and then my friend made the wooden crafts and personalized Bunny Banks for their baskets for a reasonable cost… and so worth it! I love her work!!

Check out Sweet Pineapple Shop to see what else she has to offer. (Note: I donā€™t get paid to promote her business. I just like sharing what I love!)

Anyways, I remember when I was a kid, I was able to help the grown-ups prepare the eggs for our egg hunt the next day. Of course, they were hard-boiled eggs that we would dye and paint different patterns on, but when dealing with my littles… plastic eggs are great! Aria and Lily both enjoyed helping me put candy into some of the plastic eggs. The other eggs would have to wait until they were asleep, and you bet those would be filled with the good stuff! Haha! Not to mention… while we were working inside, one of my neighbors was Egging My Yard for an added Easter morning surprise outside (with a touch of you-know-whoā€™s paw prints)!

Easter morning… my girls could not contain their excitement to see if the Easter Bunny paid them a little visit. Of course, as much as I want them to enjoy the festivities of each holiday… I also want them to know what that holiday is all about. So I had Aria watch a 5-minute video on what Easter was really about… in a format that would hold her attention. She watched The Story of Easter on YouTube before we moved onto breakfast, where Shane (my husband) was making their favorite breakfast item…pancakes. Of course, not before we search for clues on whether the Easter Bunny had stopped by. They were soooo excited to find their gift baskets.

The Easter Bunny was very generous this year! Either that, or she was making up for loss times the year before. Either way… the girls were happy! Thatā€™s all I want as their mother, and thatā€™s to see their faces light up with every joyful experience presented to them. Now itā€™s onto crafts!!

Yay!! Crafts were a hit!! But then these little ladies became restless. You know how many peeks these girls were trying to sneak when I was laying out the eggs? Haha! A bunch!! You gotta love em though! Today was so much fun! Seeing them today reminded me of the excitement I felt during my Easter egg hunting days.

As the day ends… Iā€™m so happy that my girls had a blast with their activities today. Lots of fun surprises really wowed them! Of course, I couldnā€™t take all the credit for their happiness. I do owe some thanks to my other half, Shane!

Thank you for tuning in! I know itā€™s been so long, but Iā€™m hoping that I can start a new routine in getting in at least weekly entries while working my full-time job. Happy Easter, and I hope that you have a blessed day!
